With the 2010 vintage, Juan Carlos López de Lacalle inaugurated his new “parcel wines”. We present Artadi Valdeginés 2016, the most floral, jovial and accessible of the range. Following in the wake of Viña El Pisón (which is also a parcel wine), Artadi Valdeginés intends to capture the pure personality of the Tempranillo grape generated in a single vineyard. In this way, Juan Carlos López de Lacalle shows us how the characteristics of each plot (type of soil, orientation ...) directly mark the personality of the wine. In this case, Artadi Valdeginés comes from a 7-hectare vineyard located in Laguardia, facing east and grown organically on clay-calcareous soils. Standard bearer of the Rioja renovation of the nineties, Juan Carlos López de Lacalle led the Artadi project (Rioja Alavesa). His great contribution at the head of the Artadi cooperative consisted in a new conception of wine as a faithful reflection of the terroir. A clear commitment to estate wines, to produce the fruits of a single vineyard and thus obtain wines with a unique personality, in the Burgundian style. His style set the chair and his wines compete in quality with the best in the world. AGING: 14 months in new French oak barrels. PREPARATION: vinification in open tanks with cold maceration for 24-48 hours and fermentation for 10-12 days with two daily treads and a small pump-over. Malolactic in barrel. CONSUMPTION TEMPERATURE: 16-18ºC
