It is made with Mencía grapes from vines over 60 years old, from vineyards that grow on terraces and slopes with gravel and slate floors. Aging: Malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels and aged for 9 months in new and semi-new French oak barrels and American.
Tasting note
It has a cherry red color with a good layer and a slow tear, and gives off noble aromas in the glass: ripe fresh fruit, somewhat redder than we will find in the mouth, but both present, spicy notes of pepper and cocoa, lactic and protein in a close-up, and fresh aromas that are in crescendo while other aromas of smoky, earthy and biscuits and cinnamon type emerge. Complex, round, balanced. In the mouth, it follows the same pattern, although the maturity of the fruit is better identified with the black fruit. Sweet entry, it is intense, medium-bodied and light, juicy, with good persistence and a slightly bitter finish, without aggressiveness. A classic gentleman.
